We stayed at the Grand Hyatt Seattle, conveniently located downtown. The hotel was luxurious and family-friendly, providing comfortable accommodations and easy access to Seattle’s main attractions. Staying downtown was a great choice, as it allowed us to walk to many places and use public transit effortlessly.
Navigating Seattle with Public Transit
Seattle’s public transit system is fantastic for families. We used the monorail, which runs directly from downtown to Seattle Center, home to several of the city’s top attractions. It’s quick, efficient, and a fun ride for the kids. Additionally, getting to and from the airport was a breeze with the Link light rail, which offers a direct route to downtown.
Traveling around Seattle is easy, thanks to the Seattle Center Monorail. This convenient mode of transport connects downtown with the Seattle Center, making it a breeze to visit top attractions like the Space Needle and MoPOP.

- Plan Ahead: Many of Seattle’s top attractions are popular, so it’s a good idea to buy tickets in advance.
- Use Public Transit: Seattle’s public transit system is excellent. The monorail and light rail make it easy to get around, especially with kids.
- Stay Downtown: Staying downtown, like at the Grand Hyatt Seattle, offers convenience and easy access to many attractions. The monorail was a short 5 minute walk from the Grand Hyatt and it takes you directly to the Seattle Center.
